Tutor has two separate tools, Author & Publisher: Tutor Author is based on MS Word, to allow quick and easy uptake for content development. The primary output of Tutor is the procedure, which is a role based set of tasks in sequence, which instruct the user in what to do. Tutor makes the development of the procedure faster and easier by providing a number of automated features, including automated flowcharting – no more box dragging required – system controlled task numbering and renumbering, automated html generation, and the automated creation of role based html desk manuals by Tutor Publisher. Tutor Publisher provides several key features: QA reports, automated html generation, and automated desk manuals. UPK Components are as follows: Developer – Transaction recording and Content capturing and publishing tool with context sensitivity and object recognition for the PeopleSoft Applications OEM from Global Knowledge Content Library. System process documents, job aids, user test scripts, instructor led training guides, and transaction recordings – content captured by the UPK Developer and published as Word docs and DHTML/HTML. Usage Tracking – provides tracking of users interfacing with the online UPK component, the UPK Player, which is used during training and as performance support. Scores and HEMI (Help Menu Integration) activity can be tracked to ensure user proficiency and track the need for additional training. Tutor provides the people to people content, and UPK provides the people to system content. UPK and Tutor create a variety of document types, fifteen in all. However, the primary hierarchy is made up of three documents, the business flow, which drills down into the procedure, which opens up the transaction recording topic. The Business or Process Flow is a Tutor document which describes the end to end business process at a high level. There are multiple levels of process flows – The top describes the functional area of the organization, like Procure to Pay or People to Paycheck. From there you can drill down into the next level, or sub process. The Analyze to Agreement sub process, which describes the sourcing cycle within Procure to Pay. It is made up of a sequence of procedures linked together to depict the complete set of tasks required to complete sourcing. You can drill down into any individual procedure. |
